Keith Bushey: From the Cuban Missile Crisis to the O.J. Simpson Trial
From Vietnam to the O.J. Simpson trial, Keith Bushey lived an extraordinary American life in two uniforms. Marine veteran, LAPD Commander, Marine Corps Reserve Colonel, ANGLICO commander, author, and veterans advocate, Bushey sits down with fellow veteran and author John J. McBrearty to discuss leadership, law enforcement, military service, history, and what it means to spend a lifetime serving others.
This extraordinary conversation reflects on leadership, responsibility, history, friendship, adversity, service, and the importance of passing hard-earned lessons to future generations.
This is more than the story of a Marine or police commander. It is the story of a lifetime of service.
Two uniforms. Two extraordinary careers. One lifetime devoted to service.
“You can take off the uniform, surrender the badge, and relinquish command—but a true leader never retires from service.”
— John J. McBrearty
“When veterans and first responders write their stories, memories become history and experience becomes a gift to the next generation.”
—Military and Law Enforcement Writers Support Group
